Colours and light

Arrggghhhhh!!!! Tariff for electrical usage is going up!!!! My house is very small….makes me feel claustrophobic!!!! Don’t worry! just read the suggestions in this post, it might help in reducing your stress J.

Use colour to make your room much brighter and larger. A dark room or a room with small window will benefit from white, creams and pastel colours. The room will look spacious and light as pale colours reflect light. So you will save your budget here by less turning ON the light.

A room with big window and very sunny can be painted with many colours. Cool colours i.e. the family of blue or green will tone down the room. Warm colours i.e. family of red or yellow will enhance its sunny properties.


If your home ceiling looks very low, paint them with a paler colour than the wall as this will heighten the ceiling. If the room has picture rail, paint the top wall of the rail and ceiling with paler colour.

A narrow corridor will benefits from pale colours on the floor, walls and ceiling. If the end of the corridor is painted with pale and cool colours, the corridor will look much longer. A corridor with high walls looks proportionate if the ceiling and floor were painted with slightly darker colours.

Do not stress out with the cost of paints!!!! Your investment will last for several years. Good luck......

Too dark...too bright....

Too dark or too bright.....this is due to poor exposure of the sensor to light. Is it a problem if my photo is too dark or too bright? May be yes and may be no, depends on what you want in your image. If the photo is too dark (underexposed), you will loss the detail of the shadow. If the photo is too bright (overexposed), you will loss the texture of the cloud and sky. Exposure is a combination of two fundamental settings: the aperture opening and the shutter speed. Aperture opening is the function in your lens and the shutter speed is the function in your camera. Optimal exposure can be achieved with many combinations of aperture opening size and the shutter speed, BUT each combination will have differences in depth of focus, motion blur and etc. How this exposure can be controlled? The Town of Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom

The time available for me to explore the Town of Reading was limited, as my worktrip was quite packed with formal meetings at the University of Reading and vis it to hospital and community establishments. Reading is located on the west of Heathrow Airport for about 26 miles and Greater London for about 42 miles. The Town Hall of Reading with grey and red bricks Lets go to the main landmarks of Reading. The first one is Reading Town Hall. The building was built between1786 and 1897. Currently, the town hall is used as Reading Museum and a large concert hall. Actually, the frontage was newly built with grey and red bricks, and terracota ornaments.
