Syntagma square and the Parliament House of modern Athens |
The 2nd part of the journey in Athens was started at the Panathinaikon Stadium (Kalimarmaro). I walked through several main roads from Vassilis sis Olgas (location of Zappeion), turned to Amalias up to Syntagma Square, the continued to Panespistimiou (Academy of Athens, University of Athens and National Library).

The next three hallmark buildings were constructed in the 18th and 19th Century, with large column in the front facade of the buildings namely the Academy, the University and the National Library of Athens. These three building are located side by side to each other. But the area felt a bit dodgy.
